Bokaro : Two brilliant alumni of DPS Bokaro Aryan Kumar (2018) and Yash Vishen (2016) brought big laurels to their alma mater securing AIR 262 and AIR 452 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2024 respectively.
Aryan, son of former BSL engineer, Mahendra Prasad and Kajal Prasad (Homemaker) prefers either getting Indian Police Service (IPS) or Indian Revenue Services (IRS), fetched 10 CGPA in Class X and 94.80 percent in Class XII. Later, he cracked IIT JEE to join IIT Bombay followed by an awe-inspiring achievement in the UPSC CSE. A staunch music lover and good guitarist, Aryan credited his family and definitely his school for honing his talent in various spheres which led to this stupendous success.
The success saga of Yash Vishen is an inspiration for young learners who lost his father Girendra Kumar Shahi nineteen years back in 2006 when his young mother Uma Singh (working in Bhagalpur Collectorate) groomed her son to dream big and put in his best to succeed in life. Yash got a perfect 10 CGPA in Class X and 94 percent in Class XII later joining Merchant Navy at Mumbai. Keeping Sociology as his optional paper in UPSC, Yash got into Indian Defence Account Services (IDAS) in 2022 followed by getting Indian Revenue Services (IRS) in 2023 while fetching a better rank 452 in 2024 UPSC Exam, expecting IPS.
Captain of Chenab House in school and an avid music lover cum guitarist and song composer, the changing point came in his life while he was sailing on his ship in the USA when he decided to crack UPSC and do his best to serve the country and society.
“No doubt my mother is my first guru, teacher and mentor who showed me the path of success but my school DPS Bokaro and teachers groomed me to excel and to face the situation with courage and succeed in life. I give full credit to my mother and the school for this grand success,” said Yash.

He congratulated the duo with his words of inspiration acknowledging their achievements by saying – “ Dedication and diligence can never go unrewarded. It is the perseverance of the students that decides the height of achievement.”
