Recently, ESL Steel Limited has been awarded the Gold Award at the prestigious 5th CII National EHS Circle Competition which had received 59 entries in 7 categories from Organisations across the country.
This annual competition “CII National EHS Circle Competition” is organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and focusses on Environment, Health & Safety. The Project for which ESL Steel Limited won the Gold Award was “Improving Safety with AI enhanced Camera Detection” under the “Best Organisation adopting exemplary Safety Practices”. Apart from this project ESL steel Limited also had nominated itself for “Best Application and uses of Digitization and Technology” in the online competition.
The ESL Team comprising of Safety and Digital personnel included K Sandeep, Abhisek Paul & Jaweria Mazhar and was led by Samir Das which emerged victorious by delivering an impactful presentation, virtually, which resonated with the jury and showcased ESL Steel Limited’s focus on excellence, innovative spirit and unwavering dedication to Environment, Health & Safety.
The project which ultimately won focused on harnessing the power of AI-enabled advanced camera detection to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks, ultimately fostering a safer work environment for ESL employees. Through meticulous planning, rigorous evaluation, and unwavering dedication this project stood out for its impact and effectiveness, trumping its competitors to win the prestigious gold medal.
